- Wirawila Airport, also known as Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport, is an international airport located in the town of Wirawila, in the Hambantota District of Sri Lanka. It was named after the former president of Sri Lanka, Mahinda Rajapaksa. The airport was opened in 2013 and is the second international airport in Sri Lanka, after Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo. It serves as an alternative to the main airport and aims to promote tourism, trade, and economic development in the southern part of the country. The airport has a single runway and handles both domestic and international flights.
