- Wurtsmith Air Force Base (AFB) was an active duty air force base located near Oscoda, Michigan. Although it was formerly an operational military installation, it was closed in 1993 and has since been transformed into the Oscoda-Wurtsmith Airport (IATA: OSC). The airport is now a joint public and private facility, serving both civilian and military operations. It provides services for general aviation, pilot training, and aircraft maintenance, among others.
