The airport primarily serves the needs of the residents of Vipingo Ridge, allowing them to travel conveniently by private or chartered aircraft. It is not open to the general public for commercial flights. The airstrip is equipped with a 1,400-meter runway and offers services such as customs and immigration clearance for private flights.
