Cheap flights to Roosevelt

  • Roosevelt Airport, also known as Roosevelt Field, was a major airport located in Long Island, New York. It was one of the country's first aviation centers and played a significant role in the history of aviation. The airport opened in 1911 and was named after President Theodore Roosevelt. It served as a training ground for several pioneering aviators, including Charles Lindbergh, who embarked on his historic solo transatlantic flight from Roosevelt Field in 1927. However, due to an increase in air traffic, the airport was closed in 1951, and its operations were moved to nearby airports, such as LaGuardia and JFK International Airport. Today, the site is occupied by the Roosevelt Field Mall.
