The airport is situated approximately 10 kilometers southwest of Jinja town and is operated by the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority. Jinja Airport is equipped with a single asphalt runway and a small terminal building that provides basic facilities for passengers. It mostly caters to tourists and business travelers visiting the nearby attractions, such as the Source of the Nile and the Mabira Forest Reserve.
