Air Koryo

  • Air Koryo is the national airline of North Korea. It was founded in 1955 as the national carrier of the country. Air Koryo operates international and domestic flights from its base at Pyongyang Sunan International Airport. The airline primarily serves destinations in China, Russia, and Southeast Asia. Air Koryo has a fleet consisting of various aircraft types, including Soviet-era planes such as Tupolev and Ilyushin models. The airline has been criticized for its safety standards and limited services, but it still remains the only airline to be awarded a one-star rating by Skytrax.
