- Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport is a international airport located in Sri Lanka. It is situated in Mattala, Hambantota District. The airport was opened in March 2013 and was named after former Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa. It is the second international airport in the country, after Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo. The airport has the capacity to handle large commercial aircraft and serves as a hub for both passenger and cargo flights.
