Sahara Airlines

  • Sahara Airlines was an Indian airline that operated from 1993 to 2006. It was founded by Subrata Roy Sahara, who also founded the Sahara India Pariwar conglomerate. Sahara Airlines was later rebranded as Air Sahara in 2000.
  • Air Sahara operated domestic and international flights to various destinations in India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. It had a fleet of aircraft that included Airbus A320s, Boeing 737s, and Bombardier CRJ regional jets.
  • In 2006, the airline was acquired by Jet Airways, another major Indian airline. After the acquisition, Air Sahara was merged with Jet Airways, and the brand name Sahara Airlines was discontinued.
