Copterline

  • Copterline airline was an Estonian helicopter airline that operated primarily between Tallinn, Estonia, and Helsinki, Finland. The airline was founded in 2000 and offered regular passenger and cargo services between the two cities.
  • Copterline was known for its speedy and efficient transportation, with the flight time between Tallinn and Helsinki being just 18 minutes. The airline used state-of-the-art Sikorsky S-76 helicopters, which could carry up to 12 passengers.
  • Unfortunately, in 2005, Copterline experienced a tragic accident when one of its helicopters crashed into the sea off the coast of Tallinn, resulting in the loss of all 14 people on board. This incident led to increased scrutiny of the airline's safety practices and ultimately contributed to its financial difficulties.
  • In 2008, Copterline suspended its operations due to financial issues and has not resumed services since then. The demise of Copterline was a significant loss to the Estonian aviation industry and left a void in the air transportation options between Tallinn and Helsinki.
