Astraeus

  • Astraeus Airlines was a British charter and scheduled airline that operated from 2002 to 2011. It was headquartered in Crawley, West Sussex, England, and operated out of London Gatwick Airport. Astraeus primarily provided charter services for various companies, sports teams, and tour operators. However, it also operated a limited number of scheduled flights to destinations such as Greece, Egypt, and Turkey.
  • The airline had a fleet of aircraft that included Boeing 737 and Boeing 757 models. It employed a team of experienced pilots, cabin crew, and ground staff. Astraeus was known for its high-quality service, flexible charter options, and efficient operations.
  • Unfortunately, Astraeus Airlines faced financial difficulties in the years leading up to 2011 due to the challenging economic environment and increasing fuel prices. Despite efforts to secure additional capital and restructuring plans, the airline was unable to recover and ceased operations in November 2011.
  • Many of Astraeus Airlines' former employees and assets were acquired by other airlines, ensuring that its legacy continued to some extent within the aviation industry.
